Educators are the backbone of everything we do — and we’re honored to stand alongside them and support their mission-driven work in the classroom, and beyond.
UL Research Institutes’ Office of Research Experiences & Education believes that scientific inquiry in the context of real-world phenomena builds the foundation for a safer, more sustainable future where people are equipped with the knowledge and skills to think critically about the world around them.
A key step in engaging future safety scientists and building safer communities is engaging teachers in safety science research and providing resources they can use to educate their students. The Xplorlabs Educator Fellowship provides teachers and informal educators with virtual and in-person professional learning experiences alongside peers and leaders in education, as well as safety science researchers and scientists from UL Research Institutes. Using Xplorlabs.org, fellows explore phenomena, emerging technologies, and multidisciplinary challenges that impact safety.
The yearlong fellowship starts in May with the application typically opening in March to early April.
Xplorlabs Educator Fellows:
As part of their engagement in the fellowship, fellows collaborate to create learning experiences that use Xplorlabs resources. A culmination of their engagement with facilitators and their peers, these documents can provide inspiration for other fellows in their teaching and to future fellows engaging in the fellowship in future years.
These resources are available for past, current, and future fellows.
