Over a yearlong fellowship experience, the 2025-26 Xplorlabs Educator Fellows documented, detailed, and imagined ways to tell personal stories behind their fellowship journeys. While their experiences all included ways of using Xplorlabs resources and safety science education practices in their classrooms, each story is different.
One Xplorlabs Educator Fellow took their class outside into the forest, brainstorming ways to provide early notice to their community about incoming wildfires.
One fellow guided his class in a project to understand habitat degradation in their own backyards, using extraction to e-waste to model how mining can change the nature around them.
Another fellow used Xplorlabs in their ESOL classroom, bridging the gap between both language and science for her students.
Each of their stories are unique, yet aligned along the common thread of safety science education.
