Dena Bassett is a high school math teacher in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her learning experience uses a local, proposed sprinkler mandate to spark student engagement, analysis and interpretation of data, so they can engage in debates using evidence. In the future Dena hopes to engage community members and science teachers so her students can grasp the multidisciplinary challenge of fire safety.
