Learning Experience_Lisa Williams_Xplorlabs 25-26

Context

Lisa Williams is an informal educator in a non-profit designed to introduce students to careers in Aviation Industry. In her learning experience she engages students in the risk of thermal runaway through the lens of aviation safety. Students explore the issue through multiple “missions:” safety of LiBs on planes, public awareness campaigns for proper disposal of LiBs, and habitat impact of mining minerals for LiBs. Participants presented their learnings at a field trip to the 164th Airlift Wing, a unit of the TN Air National Guard.
