Context

Dominique Thomas is a facilitator of the Women in Natural Sciences program through Drexel University. In this learning experience students explore minerals as fundamental resources for energy and how extraction of minerals can have impacts on communities and biomes. These young women became captivated by the reality that society relies heavily on minerals and the burden of this need may be strongest in underdeveloped countries when it comes to waste and mining. Students are motivated to collaborate on ways to mitigate challenges of e-waste on a global scale.
