The Challenge: Make a Claim About the Origin of the Fire

Context

Armed with the understandings from the Investigator’s Academy and examples of how investigators work through a fire scene, it’s now time for you to solve the case. Dan, Kelly, and Steve introduce the scene: a kitchen fire set in the fire lab. This scene holds evidence pointing to the origin and cause. Work your way through the burned structure to seek out every piece of evidence needed to determine the fire’s cause and place of origin.  Use the knowledge you gained in the Science of Fire Forensics pathway to support your claim with evidence and reasoning.
