Context

Maggie Pollard is a 7-12 Grade OST STEM Educator in West Philadelphia. She taught a cohort of middle schoolers from Girard College the importance of battery safety when using lithium-ion batteries. This was part of their Future Techstyles curriculum where they learn about empathy prototyping, sewing, and block coding in order to create a wearable technology that solves a problem they care about. Maggie used resources from Xplorlabs like the bologna test and crush test to supplement their learning and final presentations.
